Magick Ascending

“Magick Ascending” is a rogue-lite dungeon crawler that takes place in a magical tower where players have to explore and traverse its floors to reach the top. With pseudo-random instances, the player ascends the tower with various rooms and levels. It’s an elevator ride to experience mysterious and magical worlds that lie beyond each door!

Reign of the Arkane

“Reign of the Arkane” is an endless survival game in a 2.5-dimensional side-scroller cube. There are two playable characters with different magical move sets to fight enemies in a mystical crystal environment.

Adoran

“Adoran” is a western RPG-style game with hack-and-slash combat mixed with magic elements. The game was intended to be modular such that we could stack areas for players to traverse with bosses at the end of each area.

Salem’s Café

“Salem’s Café” is a magical cooking simulation game where the users have to serve ghost customers, fulfill orders, and master recipes to run a successful business.
The aspect of the game that I love to highlight is the VR field-of-view. It required a lot of setting up boundaries with vector math to prevent the camera from overlapping the environment.

Chroma

“Chroma” is a first-person, chill game where you paint houses to restore color to Terra Town. The HOA will chase you and shoot fines at you, but you can obtain powerups like flying or Mega-Brush mode to fend them off!

Untitled

This project is an endless shooter-survival game with power-ups to increase/decrease health by interacting with magical pumpkins. The goal of the game is to survive the wave of evil creatures and obtain as many kills as possible.

Building Tools

The hammers was a quality-of-life update that allow players to quickly build and dismantle blocks in a 3×3 grid.

Combat System Overhaul

I created new weapons types to allow more intriguing gameplay:
– Physical: Slashing, Striking, Piercing
– Magical: Inferno, Hydro, Storm, Quake, Ethereal, Void
as well as weaknesses and resistances for enemies to be neutral, weak, or resistant to certain weapon types.

Status Effects Update

I also developed and designed a status effects system :
– Inferno: Adds burning effect that damages enemies over time
– Hydro: Creates a water torrent that shoots upwards and damage nearby enemies for increased damage
– Storm: Adds shocking effect to enemies in area of effect damaging them over time
– Quake: Adds a slowness effect to an enemy and reducing speed by 50%
– Ethereal: Healing effect that triggers heal over time buff for nearby players
– Void: Adds weakened effect that reduces enemy damage while under effect

BedWars

Infernal Shielder Kit

When equipped, the infernal shield will reflect all projectiles back to the player that shot them. It also stops damage and knockback while also nullifying enchants and stopping balloons from popping.

Alchemist Kit

Players using the kit can use a cauldron to brew various potions with different effects and abilities.

Grappling Hook

The grappling hook can latch onto blocks and pulls players upward to that location. It has a maximum range of about 25 blocks and can also damage opponents.

Frying Pan

Holding left click will charge the frying pan to release a stronger swing that deals damage and knockback.

Double-Edged Sword

This sword deals 35 damage and heals the player by 10 hp every hit. Killing an enemy with this weapon will heal the player by 30% of their max health.
